15ο Μετεκπαιδευτικό Μάθημα της ΕΕΕΙ

Η ΕΕΕΙ συνεχίζει τον διετή κύκλο μετεκπαιδευτικών μαθημάτων της. Τα μαθήματα καλύπτουν σε μεγάλο βαθμό την ύλη στην οποία αναφέρεται το curriculum της Επείγουσας Ιατρικής, με σκοπό να προετοιμάσουν με τον καλύτερο τρόπο τα μέλη της εταιρείας για την καθ’ ημέρα κλινική πράξη και τις εξετάσεις για την κτήση του τίτλου της εξειδίκευσης.

Πληροφορίες για τους ομιλητές:

Dr. Reid, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine, Director of the Yale Global Health and International Emergency Medicine Fellowship, Associate Medical Director of the Yale Shoreline Emergency Department, experienced emergency clinician and global health researcher. Dr. Reid completed her residency at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, USA and her PhD in Global Health at the University of Edinburgh, UK. Her research is focused on emergency medicine development and palliative care in emergency and humanitarian settings. She is currently funded by a Spark Award from the Yale Institute of Global Health to support a community-based palliative care project in Ethiopia. She is also working with collaborators in Uganda, Peru, Puerto Rico and Greece on projects at the intersections of Emergency Medicine development, Emergency Department operations, and palliative care.  She was recently invited by the World Health Organization to contribute to a technical brief on palliative care for government heads in LMIC and has a textbook chapter currently in press on the health economics of global palliative care. Her success is further demonstrated by her record of published original research, and robust, long-term collaborations with researchers across the globe.


Dr. Motov, is an emergency medicine attending physician and research director practicing in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from the Medical Academy of Latvia and completed his EM residency at Maimonides Medical Center. Dr. Motov is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine who is very passionate about safe and effective pain management in the ED.  His primary interests include non-opioid analgesic modalities and a qualitative approach to opioid prescribing. Dr. Motov has been growing and researching this body of work both nationally and globally and has given multiple presentations on the subject of ED pain management. Dr. Motov has over 60 peer-reviewed pain-related publications in the most prestigious emergency medicine journals.
